Overview of the Department
This group, under the direction of Gayle Jackson , City Clerk, is responsible for providing the administrative support to Council and its Committees, in particular for recording the decisions of Council.
This section also manages the election process, oversees the organization, retention and disposition of City records, processes vital statistical information (such as death registrations and marriage licences), and provides staff and secretarial support for the following five committees: Accessibility Advisory Committee, Order of Orillia Awards Committee, the Orillia Hall of Fame Committee, Parking Advisory Committee, and Licensing Committee. This department is also responsible for Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy access requests, Lottery Licensing, Real Estate, Parking Lot Maintenance & Management and Municipal By-law Enforcement and associated prosecutions.
