-Commissioner of Oaths / Certification of Documents-
The City Clerk acts in the capacity of Commissioner of Oaths for documents such as affidavits, vehicle transfers and pension forms. If you require the signature of a Notary Public, you will need to contact a lawyer.
NOTE: THIS SERVICE IS AVAILABLE FOR A $20 FEE PER SIGNATURE – PLEASE CALL 325-1311 TO ARRANGE AN APPOINTMENT TIME WITH THE CITY CLERK.

-Liquor Licensing – Municipal Consent-
Information regarding Liquor Licensing in Ontario is monitored by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) pursuant to the Liquor Licence Act and its regulations. In order to receive a liquor licence for your establishment, an application package (provided by the AGCO) must be filled out and provided to the City Clerk for review and signature. Inspections are arranged with the local Fire, and Building Departments. There is a total fee of $205 payable to the City of Orillia for these services. There is also a requirement for an inspection by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit which you must arrange.

-Waterlots - Municipal Consent-
The purchase or alteration of waterlots or shorelands in Ontario is regulated by the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) pursuant to Section 14 of the Public Lands Act. Documents requiring municipal comment should be provided to the City Clerk for review. There is a $30 fee for this service.

-Claims Against the Municipality-
If you wish to file a claim against the municipality, you must submit a written description of the incident to the attention of the City Clerk within 10 days of the event. Please provide complete contact information with your submission including (where possible) date of incident, how/what the incident is that occurred and why you feel the City is at fault/liable.

charitable organization.
The organization must...
•Have been in existence for at least a year.
•Prove how they benefit the citizens of Orillia and area as
a whole.
•Have one of the following primary purposes:
a) relief of poverty
b) advancement of education
c) advancement of religion
d) other charitable purposes beneficial to the community not falling
under a, b, or c.
•Be properly organized such that it is separate from any other
organization. i.e. legally, financially, organizationally.
•Provide copy of constitution or mandate and budget.

The following Federal and Provincial government agencies utilize the Boardrooms at the Orillia City Centre building at 50 Andrew St. to offer their services to residents of Orillia including:
Ministry of Health: To book appointments to renew or replace Health Cards, you must call the Ministry of Health directly by calling 1-888-376-5197.
Ministry of Transportation – Senior Driver Renewal Program: To make or change an appointment for testing or a group education session, the Ministry of Transportation must be contacted directly by calling 1-800-396-4233.
