Overview of the Department

The City of Orillia Parks and Recreation Department provides many diverse recreation, leisure and open-space opportunities, as well as being instrumental in the delivery of many sport tourism initiatives. Such programs and services preserve and enhance the quality of life for present and future generations. We work together with different organizations to identify and fulfill the recreational needs of the citizens of the City of Orillia.

The Parks and Recreation Department consists of 27 full-time employees and approximately 105 contract/casual employees. As a team, staff is responsible for the following:
