What's New/Notices !
Notice of Garbage Tag Reduction In 2010
Effective July 1, 2010, residents and businesses of Orillia will be issued 30 garbage tags for the period July 1, 2010 to June 30, 2011. The reduction from 40 tags corresponds to recent improvements to the City’s diversion programs including the new Green Bin program and the Fibre Box program whereby residents can use one Recycling Box for containers and another Recycling Box for mixed paper. Fully utilizing the City’s new Green Bin program and the Recycling Box program can cut your waste by 45%! So save your tags.
You can still use your orange garbage tags as there is no expiry date on them. Additional garbage tags can be purchased in lots of 5 tags for $8.25. Questions? Call 325-3522

CURBSIDE WASTE COLLECTION NOTICE -
DIVIDED CO-COLLECTION VEHICLES
Mid Ontario Disposal uses divided co-collection trucks to collect garbage and compostable kitchen/yard waste in separate compartments. Please note that although garbage and kitchen/yard waste are collected with the same truck, THEY ARE NOT MIXED TOGETHER. Compostable kitchen/yard waste is still dropped off at our compost site located at the Waste Diversion Site where it is processed into compost. The purpose of using co-collection vehicles is to reduce collection costs by reducing the number of collection vehicles on the road. For more information, please call 325-3522.
