-Solid Waste Information-

Household Hazardous Waste Depot

Left-over paints, old medicines, drain decloggers, batteries and motor oil are part of a long list of items classified as ‘household hazardous wastes’. If not disposed of properly, they can be harmful to human health and the environment. Pouring hazardous waste down the drain may corrode plumbing, release toxic fumes, poison septic tanks, destroy sewage treatment organisms and contaminate surface and ground water.

Residents of Orillia and the Townships of Oro-Medonte, Severn, and Ramara can bring these items to the Household Hazardous Waste Depot at the Kitchener Street Waste Diversion Site free of charge. Hours are:

Dec 1 - Mar 31: Mon - Fri 8:30am - 4:30pm
Apr 1 - Nov 30: Mon - Fri 8:30am - 5:00pm
Saturday 8:30am to 1:00pm.
