THE CITY OF ORILLIA IMPLEMENTATION OF NEW TRANSIT ROUTING - ROUTING UPDATES

In response to public input, the following improvements have been made to transit routing to be implemented on September 8, 2009.

  • The Laclie route has been modified to proceed southbound on Old Muskoka Road between Fittons Road and North Street.  The route will then proceed west on North Street to continue southbound on Laclie Street.
  • The stop located on Oxford Street near Regent Street will be relocated later this year to be closer to Regent Street.
  • In order to better serve the area south of Highway 12 east of West Street, a limited A and B routing has been added to the South route.  South route A will proceed westbound on Oxford Street between Forest Avenue and Gill Street then proceed southbound to Shannon Street.  South route B will proceed southbound on Forest Avenue from Oxford Street to Collins Drive/Shannon Street than proceed westbound on Shannon Street to Gill Street.  Service on the A and B routing will be hourly.

The Transit Routing Study and updated route map may be viewed on the City website at www.city.orillia.on.ca.
